We are Waking the Witch Studio, a Southern California film studio run by Jae Michael Stromberg and Brad A. Stromberg. We create narrative films that explore complex emotional experiences and invite audiences to engage with them in their own way. Our work is rooted in curiosity, reflection, and the belief that people can find meaning without being told what to think.

We are especially interested in stories for those who don’t often feel represented, and for those who see the world a little differently. We aim to create work that helps people feel seen, while also challenging them to look deeper and stay open to new perspectives.
As a studio, we value growth, shared knowledge, and the ongoing process of learning through doing. We avoid surface-level storytelling and focus instead on building work that holds attention and invites interpretation over time.
We believe filmmaking is a collaborative effort. We want the people we work with to feel respected, safe to contribute, and encouraged to bring their own ideas into the process. We are currently developing larger narrative projects and are always open to connecting with creatives who are interested in building thoughtful, engaging work together.
